We’re excited to launch Future Ready Families, a new pilot initiative designed to strengthen family engagement while helping elementary students grade 3-5 build essential, future-ready skills. Through hands-on classroom activities and career exploration stations, students develop skills such as communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and self-awareness while learning about a variety of careers in developmentally appropriate ways. All activities are aligned to the state’s CTE career clusters, helping students begin making early connections between their interests, skills, and future career pathways.

Future Ready Families also encourages meaningful connections between school and home through simple conversation prompts that invite families to engage in their child’s learning. A key highlight of the pilot is the Future Ready Fair, a culminating event where students and families come together to celebrate learning, explore careers connected to CTE clusters, and practice communication and collaboration skills in an interactive, welcoming environment.

With funding from the Benedum Foundation, The EdVenture Group will implement several strategic components of the FRF initiative, including:
  • Career Exploration Stations – Portable, interactive displays and materials for schools to introduce students to key sectors such as healthcare, technology, skilled trades, and manufacturing.
  • Career Passport Program – A structured tool for students to document and reflect on their career exploration activities throughout the year.
  • CTE for Me Awareness Campaign – A statewide effort to raise awareness and enthusiasm for CTE options, with targeted messaging for students and families.
  • Family CTE Toolkits and Workshops – Culturally responsive resources and facilitated sessions to help families actively support career exploration and planning.

We are proud to partner with five elementary schools participating in the Future Ready Families pilot during the 2025–2026 school year:

  • Sutton Elementary School
  • Guyandotte Elementary School
  • Gauley River Elementary School
  • Berlin McKinney Elementary School
  • Davis Elementary School

These pilot schools will help shape the program through feedback, shared experiences, and examples of meaningful family engagement. For more information about The EdVenture Group or the Future Ready Families initiative, please contact Peyton Smith psmith@edvgroup.org.
