The EdVenture Group is opening applications for six programs that support educators, students, and families across West Virginia. From classroom innovation to family engagement to student leadership, there is an opportunity here for nearly every corner of the school community. Explore the programs below to find the right fit and apply before the deadline.
Future Ready Families
Now accepting school applications!
Future Ready Families is a family engagement initiative designed to help students in Grades 3-5 explore Career and Technical Education (CTE) and future career pathways through engaging classroom activities and meaningful family conversations. EdV is seeking ten elementary schools to participate in the 2026-2027 program year.
- Who: Elementary schools (Grades 3-5), ten spots available
- What: Ready-to-use classroom resources, Career Passports, access to the Miss P: Explore With Me video series, implementation support, and a stipend for a Future Ready Families Family Career Event
- When: School year 2026-2027

L.I.F.E. Program (Leaders Investing in Family Engagement)
Grow your leadership. Strengthen family engagement. Connect statewide.
The L.I.F.E. program invites West Virginia school teams to strengthen their leadership skills, enhance family engagement practices, and connect with a statewide network of educators committed to student and family success.
- Who: Teams of three school professionals (educators, administrators, counselors, or other staff) from West Virginia
- What: Professional learning focused on leadership development and effective family engagement strategies
- When: October 2026 – March 2027
- Incentive: $1,200 stipend per fully participating team member, plus access to a statewide professional network
- Apply by: September 11, 2026
**Note: Each team member must complete an individual application. Space is limited, early application encouraged.
ELEVATE CTE
Elevate your teaching. Connect with educators across the state.
ELEVATE CTE is a statewide professional learning community that empowers career and technical educators to design more engaging, student-centered learning experiences. Through collaboration, coaching, and practical innovation strategies, educators strengthen classroom instruction while preparing students for future careers.
- Who: West Virginia high school CTE educators
- What: Virtual professional learning community with interactive sessions, collaborative learning, and classroom implementation
- When: October 2026 – March 2027 (virtual)
- Incentive: $500 stipend for successful completion
- Apply by: September 30, 2026 (notifications by October 2)
CLEAR CoP (Career Learning, Exploration, and Readiness Community of Practice)
Helping middle schoolers see their future career paths early.
CLEAR CoP supports middle school educators in understanding the value of career readiness opportunities before high school. This six-session virtual series brings together key middle school influencers to explore transferable skills, early exposure to career pathways, and the impact of Career Technical Education (CTE) in expanding students’ future opportunities.
- Who: Middle school educators and counselors
- What: Six monthly virtual sessions held outside of school hours, plus required activity completion
- When: October 2026 – March 2027
- Incentive: $500 stipend for successful completion
- Apply by: September 25, 2026 (notifications by October 2)
Student Innovators
Real mentors. Real challenges. Real career skills.
Student Innovators connects high school students with industry mentors and authentic, community-based innovation that develops creativity, collaboration, and career-ready skills. Participants tackle real-world challenges while building leadership and professional experience.
- Who: High school students and adult mentors in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Hospitality & Tourism, Grow Your Own, Social Services, or Manufacturing pathways
- What: Innovation projects, mentorship, leadership development, and professional skill-building
- When: October 2026 – May 2027 (virtual)
- Incentive: $500 stipend for participating students, $200 stipend for mentors
- Apply by: September 30, 2026 (notifications by October 2)
Spark West Virginia
Every great innovation starts with an idea.
SparkWV is West Virginia’s statewide small business and big idea innovation competition that empowers middle and high school students to transform ideas into impactful solutions. Through project-based learning, mentorship, and competition, students develop innovative thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills while addressing real-world challenges.
- Who: West Virginia middle and high school students, adult mentors and judges
- What: Statewide competition featuring idea development, mentorship, and live presentations
- When: Round 1 submissions due December 4, 2026; semi-finalists notified by December 14, 2026
- Incentive: Feedback from industry professionals, recognition, and cash prizes
