The EdVenture Group is proud to announce that Victoria Taylor has been named Assistant Director of the West Virginia Family Engagement Center (WVFEC).
Victoria joined The EdVenture Group in 2021 as a Program Coordinator and Family Engagement Specialist, working directly with schools across West Virginia. She supported schools in Mercer, Webster, Braxton, and Upshur counties, coaching school teams and partnering with educators and families to strengthen family engagement. She led focus groups and listening sessions with families and school leaders, taking the time to understand each school’s strengths, needs, and goals before helping build solutions. That approach also shaped her work supporting the WVFEC Rural Voices Listening Tour in 2022.
Victoria joined the team just as The EdVenture Group launched the first cohort of its Leaders Investing in Family Engagement (L.I.F.E.) program. Since then, she has become a driving force behind the program’s continued growth, helping expand participation from approximately 40 educators in its inaugural cohort to more than 160 participants in its fifth. Building on the success of L.I.F.E., she also led the launch of Everyday Leaders, the organization’s first family-facing leadership program, extending leadership development to caregivers and equipping them with the skills and confidence to advocate for their children’s education.
While working at The EdVenture Group, Victoria earned her Master of Social Work from West Virginia University and now supervises Master of Social Work interns completing their advanced field placements with The EdVenture Group, helping develop emerging professionals while expanding the organizations capacity to serve children, families, and communities.
As Victoria grew into the role of Program Manager, her passion for leadership development expanded alongside her responsibilities. Along the way, she developed expertise in grant writing, budgeting, program implementation, and public speaking, representing The EdVenture Group and building relationships with state and national partners while sharing its innovative programming at conferences.
Her leadership extends beyond the WVFEC. She helped build The EdVenture Group’s Prevention and Resilience portfolio, strengthening the organization’s work to support children, families, and communities across West Virginia. Victoria helped grow the Charles R. Nailler Memorial Foundation-funded youth leadership initiative, expanding opportunities for middle school students in Monongalia County, including Westwood Middle School, her alma mater.
In addition, she helped secure Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) funding to expand workforce development and wraparound services for individuals in recovery and their families in Calhoun County.
She brings deep expertise and compassion to serving grandfamilies and kinship caregivers, work that carries special personal meaning as a granddaughter committed to supporting the grandparents who have always supported her. Victoria’s commitment to advocating for others has shaped both her career and her life outside of work. Early in her career, she interned and volunteered with CASA for Kids of Monongalia and Preston Counties, an experience that continues to shape how she approaches her work today. As the oldest of her siblings, she carries that same spirit into her own family, leading by example and encouraging them to chase their own goals.

As Assistant Director, Victoria brings with her the trust of schools and families across West Virginia, a track record of listening deeply and building responsive solutions, and a deep commitment to strengthening partnerships that help children, families, and schools thrive. Her leadership will help continue to expand the WVFEC’s impact across the state.
