Waynesburg, PA – Greene County middle school students took center stage at the 2026 EQT STEM Days County Pitch Competition, a hands-on entrepreneurial learning experience designed to help students identify real-world problems, develop creative solutions, and pitch their ideas to local business and community leaders.

Through a partnership between The EdVenture Group, EQT Foundation, Waynesburg University, and local schools, students developed solutions to real challenges in their schools and communities, then pitched their ideas to panels of business and community leaders for recognition and cash prizes.

Through the competition, students participated in school and county-level pitch experiences that challenged them to use design thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills. Teams developed solutions connected to issues they saw in their schools and communities, including mental health support, excessive phone use, accessibility, student voice, and classroom wellness.

Just seeing these kids come alive with their presentation skills and collaborate with one another from different districts...that has been an awfully wonderful experience to see
