Each lens offers a new way to think about how families, schools, and communities connect.
- Beyond the Event: Family engagement is more than bringing people together for an event. What happens before, during, and after an event that helps turn a single experience into lasting relationships and ongoing connections? Explore how activities and experiences can part of a larger approach to meaningful family engagement.
- Beyond the School Walls: Learning, relationships, and family engagement happen in many places, not just schools. Explore how partnerships can grow from the people, places, knowledge, and experiences that shape family and community life.
- Beyond the Traditional: Family engagement doesn't have to look the way it always has. What might happen if we tried something different? Explore playful, creative, and unexpected approaches that invite families, schools, and communities to connect and learn together.
- Beyond the Assumption: What we see doesn't always tell us the whole story. Explore how questioning our assumptions, listening to different perspectives, and building trust can change how families, schools, and communities understand and work with one another.
- Beyond the Role Meaningful family engagement isn't the responsibility of one person or position. Explore what becomes possible when families, educators, and community partners share ideas, make decisions together, and learn from one another.
