Let's get to know our newest Communications Intern:

Where are you from, and what is your background?

N: Hello! I am Nathan Vogel. I am a West Virginia University (WVU) senior from Woodbridge, VA, majoring in Business Administration.

What drew you to that field?

N: I was drawn to that field because I have always been intrigued by the details of business operations.

What excites you most about your new role at The EdVenture Group?

N: I am most excited to gain new experience in the communications field through learning and utilizing new things.

What do you think is the most important skill for someone working in communications?

N: I think the most important skill for someone working in communications is their ability to effectively engage in teamwork and contribute individually to that team at the same time.

Is there a recent communication trend that excites you or you think is important for the future?

N: A recent trend in social media/digital marketing I’ve noticed and think is important is more personalization. It seems corporations are becoming more hands-off and allowing whoever is in charge of PR/Marketing to create things that otherwise would be deemed non-professional and inappropriate for a corporate advertisement.

What is a quote or saying that resonates with you, especially as it relates to your views on education?

N: A quote that resonates with me is “It’s okay to be scared – do it scared. It’s okay to be unsure – do it unsure. It’s okay to be uncomfortable – do it uncomfortable. Just get started where you are.”

What’s a fun fact about you?

N: A fun fact about me is I’ve owned many species of pets. Besides a dog, I’ve also owned a hamster, mouse, bearded dragon, and sugar gliders!

What can someone find you doing outside of work hours for fun?

N: Outside of work hours, one can find me playing video games or the guitar.
