The EdVenture Group has received a $17,300 grant from The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation to support the Lincoln County Family Leadership Summit (LCFLS). The LCFLS will take place in March 2024 and will expand upon the current work of The EdVenture Group’s West Virginia Family Engagement Center (WVFEC). The WVFEC is based on current, evidence-based practices that engage families, educators, and community members in the educational process to enhance academic achievement.
“Through support from The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation, the Summit will help build knowledge and confidence, and ultimately empower families to have a voice in engagement at their schools. Our team is excited about this opportunity to continue our partnership with families and schools in Lincoln County.”

The WVFEC has partnered with 100 schools across West Virginia, including the following schools in Lincoln County: Duval PK-8, Guyan Valley Middle School, Harts PK-8, Lincoln County High School, Ranger Elementary, and West Hamlin Elementary. The LCFLS will help elevate, amplify, and empower the voices of 48 families from these schools through educational workshops that build leadership capacity and guide collaborative partnership building between families and schools. The EdVenture Group will collaborate with key Lincoln County stakeholders in all aspects of planning and delivering the summit.
"This summit will help show the importance of caregivers’ and parents' involvement in their child/children’s education.”
